The Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine has proven to be 97% effective against new symptomatic infections of COVID-19, serious cases, and fatal risks, according to data from the Israeli Ministry of Health, reported by the pharmaceutical company.
The unvaccinated were 44 times more likely to suffer from symptomatic COVID-19 and 29 times more likely to die from an infection with the new coronavirus.
“The findings represent the most complete evidence in the real world to date, which demonstrates the effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine,” says Pfizer in the statement, which defends that the data also suggests that it prevents asymptomatic infection with SARS-CoV -2.
